Captain America: Civil War is a 2016 American superhero film featuring the
Marvel Comics character Captain America, produced by Marvel Studios and
distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It is the sequel to 2011's
Captain America: The First Avenger and 2014's Captain America: The Winter
Soldier, and the thirteenth film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The
film is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo. In Captain America: Civil War,
disagreement over international oversight of the Avengers fractures them into
opposing factions—one led by Steve Rogers and the other by Tony Stark.
With many people fearing the actions of super heroes, the government
decides to push for the Hero Registration Act, a law that limits a hero's
actions. This results in the Avengers having to decide whether to remain free
or to be registered. This also results in a division in The Avengers. Iron Man
stands with this Act, claiming that their actions must be kept in check
otherwise cities will continue to be destroyed, but Captain America feels that
saving the world is daring enough and that they cannot rely on the government
to protect the world. He believes that heroes should remain free .This
escalates into an all-out war between Team Iron Man (Iron Man, Black Panther,
Vision, Black Widow, War Machine, and Spiderman) and Team Captain America
(Captain America, Bucky Barnes, Falcon, Sharon Carter, Scarlet Witch, Hawkeye,
and Ant Man). And all the while, Captain must try and protect his old friend
Bucky from both Tony and the schemes of a new villain who emerges with a plan
that could shock the world.
Civil War is the conclusion of the Captain America trilogy that began with
The First Avenger. While it is the final standalone Captain America film in
Evans' contract with Marvel Studios,
